In this video, we'll look at how to reset
and proactively change your AT&T email password.
Feel free to pause, review a previous section,
or advance to a new section of this video at any time.
Remember, AT&T agents don't know your passwords
and can't provide them to you.
So let's take a quick look at how you can manage
your passwords.
Change or Reset Your AT&T Email |
Before you get started, keep in mind a few important points:
Email passwords are managed in myAT&T and cannot be reset
from att.net
If your email address is linked to your AT&T Access ID
changing your AT&T Access ID password automatically
changes your email to the same password.
If you use your actual email address as your AT&T
Access ID, changing your email password automatically
changes your AT&T Access ID to the same password.
If you have merged your AT&T email with your AT&T yahoo.com
email address, use your AT&T email address in the following
instructions. First, let's start with what to do if you forget
your email password.
Simply go to att.net and click the check mail icon
in the upper right corner.
Now select the "Forgot Password?" link.
From this page, select the radio button next to "Password".
Enter in your user ID and last name.
And then select "Continue".
You can choose to receive a temporary password
or answer your security questions.
If you choose "Temporary Password"
we'll send a new temporary password
to the contact email address that we have on file.
This contact email address is a separate email address
you provided when you set up your account.
Once you retrieve the temporary password
from your contact email address, enter it into the field
provided on your login screen.
Just go to the myAT&T login page
and enter the temporary password.
Now create a new password, confirm the new password,
and select "Continue".
Simply answer security questions one and two
and select "Continue".
Now create a new password.
Confirm the new password and select "Continue".
Look for the "Password Successfully Reset" confirmation
and you're back in business.
Whether you currently have AT&T service
or just enjoy using our free email,
proactively changing your AT&T email password
from time to time is a good idea
to ensure your account is protected.
To change your email password, go to att.com
and select "myAT&T".
Here you can log in to your myAT&T account.
Then select "Profile" at the top of the page
and you can create a new myAT&T login password here.
This is a great time to make sure your security questions
and answers are completed.
Having this information on file can help you
quickly regain access to your email
if you forget your password in the future.
By the way, if you access your email
using an email client program like Outlook,
Windows Mail, or Apple Mail, you must update the password stored
in your email client in order to send and receive email.
Check out the email client settings' online help pages.
You can find this info and a lot more on att.com/emailsupport.
If you'd like, you can search for email client settings
right in the search box.
Thank you for watching.
